Personal site + project hub
Things built because
they seemed worth building.
A home for technical experiments, strange hardware, useful tools, old technology that still has some life left in it, and whatever rabbit hole looked interesting enough to climb into.
About
A deliberately small corner of the web.
This is the front door for things I build, maintain, revive, or otherwise spend far too much time poking at.
The common thread is usually some combination of networking, Linux, embedded hardware, old technology, reverse engineering, and the dangerous thought: “I wonder if I can make this work.”
Projects
Selected work
SignWaveZ Cardputer Programmer
A 2003 scrolling LED badge spent more than twenty years stranded by obsolete software and hardware. I reverse-engineered its infrared protocol with ChatGPT and built a pocket-sized replacement programmer with an M5Stack Cardputer ADV.
dircproxy
An IRC proxy/bouncer I used myself, then adopted when the previous maintainer decided to step away.
Weather
A lightweight Northern Michigan weather dashboard, including a compact layout built for a 640×480 GPi display.
amuletgen_markov
A small Python Markov-chain amulet generator.
